Way back in 2021, myself and a good friend (Now Staffordshire County Secretary) Gareth Shaw, decided to have a little bit of fun and start to record a few of our golf conversations and start a podcast.

With LIV Golf rolling into town this past week, many of our members were spectating; however, a number of members also volunteered their time to help with the running of the event. Our assistant Will had the privilege of caddying in the Pro-Am on Wednesday and had a fantastic experience. Please see below a day in Will's life at JCB.
"On Thursday, I got to caddy in the Liv JCB pro am. The day started off strangely as the celebrities were meant to get given a caddy. But a lot brought their own caddies. I was told to arrive at 6:30am for an 8 o’clock tee time, but I ended up in the 9:30 tee time group. At the time, I was a bit annoyed as I had to wait for 3 hours, but it was so worth it as the pro in my group was Cameron Smith. This was a big deal to me, as when the Open was at Royal Liverpool me and my Grandad saw him on a practice day and I really wanted a photo with him, so we skipped 3 holes ahead of his group so I could beat the crowd to try and get a photo. So we sat down for about 2 hours, then it turned out he skipped that hole out and I was gutted. So when I found out I was in his group, it was a dream come true. Whilst caddying, I got to speak to him about golf and he gave me on-course lessons which I’m sure will help me. When me and the person I was caddying for couldn’t read a putt him or his caddy would come and help us to read it. I learnt so much from him that day. And honestly, it’s probably the best day of my life. If you ever get the chance to do something like that, I would highly recommend you do it. It’s so worth it even if you have to wait 3 hours for a group like that."
